Pretty cottage goes under the hammer
Luscombe Maye’s South Brent Office held a very successful Property Auction on 23rd November 2010 conducted by Stuart Hext.
A good crowd filled the South Brent Village hall to see a small semi-detached cottage just outside South Brent go under the hammer, on behalf of the South Brent Feoffees, a charity dating back to 1880 and formed to help and support the South Brent Parish. 1 – 2 Feoffee Cottages at Aish, about 1 mile from South Brent village centre, is a pretty, predominantly stone built cottage in need of total renovation.
Formerly two cottages, the accommodation comprises two good sized reception rooms, a kitchen, two double bedrooms, a walk through room and a bathroom. Outside there is a pretty walled garden to the front, whilst to the rear is a good size garden at first floor level, with lovely views from the top across the surrounding countryside. In addition to the property was a small stone garage/store area.
The cottage was launched 6 weeks ago, and over 150 viewings were conducted right up until the day of the auction. Starting with a Guide Price of £90,000, competitive bidding saw the cottage eventually selling for £191,000.
Properties such as 1 - 2 Feoffee Cottages are highly desirable, and Luscombe Maye would be delighted to give our advice to achieve the best possible price for you. To discuss selling your property either by Auction or Private Treaty, please call Luscombe Maye’s South Brent Office on 01364 646170.
