What is the NAEA?
The NAEA is the UK’s leading professional body for estate agency. Its 10,000 qualified members practice across all aspects of property both in the UK and
overseas, including residential and commercial sales and letting, property management, business transfer, auctioneering and land.

NAEA Qualified Estate AgentFounded in 1962 by estate agent and entrepreneur Raymond Andrews, the NAEA was established with the goal of upholding good practice and high professional standards in UK estate agency. This struck a chord with the industry at a time when there was little representation for estate agents and has allowed the Association to grow phenomenally over the years. Today, its key roles include providing help and guidance for property professionals across a broad spectrum of disciplines while continually campaigning to make the property market more efficient and user-friendly for the home buying and selling public.

As a leading player in the property industry, the NAEA offers significant benefits to both estate agents and consumers.

The NAEA gives agents the credibility of being part of a respected industry organisation and the opportunity to promote their qualifications through membership, but also offers a whole host of other member benefits. Education plays a major role in upholding professional standards within the industry and the NAEA provides a wide range of courses covering all aspects of property services including residential sales, lettings, auctioneering and block management and new homes courses. As an NAEA member we can take advantage of such training. We also have direct access to vital industry information. Every week we receive a weekly newsletter email which relays the most up to date news.

The dedicated members’ section on the NAEA website contains a wealth of resources to aid our day to day business including legal advice. Downloadable documents available on the site tell us everything we need to know about legislation changes.

Membership of the Association is through formal qualification ensuring that NAEA member agents have the knowledge and experience to guide you through your property transaction as smoothly and painlessly as possible. Operating under strict rules of conduct, members must meet certain standards relating to professional and ethical practice. Under the rules, agents are required to protect and promote their client’s interests, while at all times acting in a fair and proper manner. If you are unfortunate enough to suffer at the hands of malpractice by an NAEA estate agent, the Association can take disciplinary action on your behalf. By choosing an NAEA member you can be sure you are dealing with an experienced and professional agent.
